This month, we dive into a critical aspect of maximizing your security with MedixSafe Cloud: Role-Based Access Control. As you are aware, Link serves as your gateway to efficient and secure management of access to your safes, and having multiple administrators is one major aspect of ensuring its effectiveness.

The Importance of Multiple Administrator

​​With the ability to designate multiple administrators, you can distribute responsibilities effectively, ensuring smooth operations even in the absence of a single point of contact. This not only enhances operational efficiency but also strengthens security by enabling rapid responses to security incidents with the ability to Remotely Authorize Access. Being locked out of your organization’s Link Web Portal due to having just one administrator who may not be available can lead to substantial disruptions and delays until account access is restored.

Understanding Different User Roles

Within Link, you have the freedom to assign numerous user and administrator roles according to your preference. These roles fall into three distinct categories:

1. Account Administrator: This role functions as the overall administrator, wielding comprehensive control over the entire Link platform. Account admins have the authority to manage network and group settings, users, and access permissions across all narcotic safes within the account.
2. Group Administrators: Group administrators are granted administrative privileges limited to specific narcotics safes within the group they are designated to. This role allows for focused management by individuals familiar with the unique requirements and protocols of a certain base or location without impacting overall access to broader organization-wide functions. In improving usability by removing less pertinent information, the severity of risk diminishes in parallel.
3. Basic User: Basic users are essential members of your team who utilize MedixSafe to access narcotics but do not need the administrative capabilities of the Link software. While these users cannot log in to the Link software, they are considered regular users who can authenticate at a safe based on their credentials and permissions.
