How to Activate or Update my BioConnect Enterprise license?

This article describes the steps required to either activate your BioConnect Enterprise license for the first time or update your license if it has been renewed. 

Prerequisites

  1. You need to know the Activation ID and corresponding QUANTITY value provided to you from MedixSafe.
  2. You need to know whether an ONLINE activation or OFFLINE is available on the BioConnect server.
  3. For an offline license, please send an email request tha includes the MAC address of the computer where the BioConnect Server has been installed along with your Activation ID to support@bioconnect.com.
    To determine the MAC address on the computer, open a command prompt and enter in the command 'getmac'.

           

You will receive an email response with a file attachment corresponding to the necessary bin offline license file that is described in the offline activation procedure below.  

Step by Step Procedure

1. On the BioConnect server, launch the BioConnect Server Setup Assistant program as an administrator. Please note tha this will automatically stop all BioConnect Services.

2. The Setup Assisant user interface will be launched.  Click on NEXT.

3.  Click NEXT at the Version Updates step.

4. At the License Setup step, click on either Online Activation or Offline Activation as required. For an Online Activation, skip to step 6. For an Offline Activation, please proceed to the next step 5.

5. At the Offline License Activation step, click on the 'Browse' button to navigate to the folder location where you have saved the license bin file that you received from BioConnect.

Click Activate.

Proceed to step 7.

 

6. If you are doing an Online Activation, you will be prompted to enter and Activation ID and a Quantity. Carefully type in or copy and paste the Activation ID along with the correct quantity in the respective fields.

In the case where you are renewing an existing license, you will be presented with the existing Activation ID and Device License quanity under the Existing BioConnect License.

Click Activate.

Note: The Setup Assistant will send the online activation request to https://flex1228-fno.flexnetoperations.com/flexnet/deviceservices and could take up to 30 to 45 seconds to complete.

7. After clicking on Activate, the license information will be refreshed and the Expiration Date will show 'Permanent'


Click on the NEXT button.

 

8. Once you have advanced to the next step past the Online License Activation you can click on the CANCEL button to quit the Setup Assistant.  You can now restart the BioConnect Services.
