Data Security
Your system holds critical data such as access card information, user IDs, and fingerprint data. You can be confident that all this information is secure: your data is encrypted end-to-end, and managed in a way that meets even the most-stringent Data Privacy requirements. To start, your primary credential information (card or user ID) is never stored in its raw form in the Cloud; the Cloud only saves a hashed version that cannot be reversed back to your normal card number. If you choose to use biometrics with our safes, our patented data-protection ensures that biometric data cannot be accessed. This protects your credential data in the event that a safe is stolen -- or if there is ever an unauthorized access to your account. All information stored on the device and in transit to the cloud is uniquely encrypted, which means your user credentials, device settings, and biometrics can only be translated by your certified safes.
Certificate-Based Authentication
MedixSafe uses X.509 certificates to provision and authenticate your device with the MedixSafe Cloud. In simple terms, this means that only your safe can connect to your account. Other safes won’t have this key identifier used to verify your safe exclusively. This prevents access and ‘man-in-the-middle’ attacks where a third party could be listening for your information or attempting to manipulate the data in your account.
Constant Vigilance
We continue to apply software and firmware patches to our Cloud and directly to your safe, ensuring the best quality and highest levels of protection from any threats. To ensure seamless service, we only perform these updates during designated maintenance windows. In the case of safe firmware upgrades, our intelligent rollout service detects various parameters, including current network strength, before administering a firmware upgrade.
